Cannabis consumers are looking for deals on Green Wednesday! Green Wednesday last year (November 25, 2020), was the third largest single day of cannabis sales in 2020. Total retail cannabis sales on Green Wednesday across US markets tracked by Headset reached $61.9M, up 55% over the average daily sales during the previous four Wednesdays. The average discount on cannabis products increased by 27%, rising from 10.5% on the previous four Wednesdays to 13.4% on Green Wednesday. While all product categories saw sales growth on Green Wednesday, Beverages (+89%), Edibles (+81%), and Tincture & Sublingual (+70%) categories attracted relatively more customers over others. The number of distinct SKUs sold in the median store in the most recently completed month. Median was used instead of an average to remove the effects of outlier stores.


Median store Like-Store-Sales-Growth MoM - The month over month growth in sales for the median sample store (for example, January 2022 vs. December 2021). “Like stores” are filtered to exclude any newly opened stores or recently disconnected stores.
