Edibles are the on-ramp for consumers who never wanted to smoke. The category skews older and more female than any major smoked format: women drive 42% of dollars, well above their 32% share of Flower and 34% of Vapor Pens, and Baby Boomers and Gen X together make up more than half of spend. One brand, Wyld, captures roughly 16% of all US Edible sales, a level of dominance no brand approaches in Flower. Ranked fourth in both the US and Canada, Edibles remain the most approachable way into cannabis.
Edibles average about $11 per item across Headset’s US markets over the past year, one of the lowest average prices in cannabis and well below Flower or Vapor Pens. Most of that spend is a standard 100mg pack of ten 10mg gummies, which equates to roughly $1 per 10mg serving, a useful way to compare value across very different edible formats and potencies.
Average edible prices fell about 7% year over year, the steepest decline of any category. As 100mg packs became the default and higher-potency options spread, the price per milligram has dropped even faster than the shelf price, making edibles one of the best per-dose values in the market.
