The month over month growth in sales for the median sample store (for example, January 2022 vs. December 2021). “Like stores” are filtered to exclude any newly opened stores or recently disconnected stores.
In July 2022, the Topical category was the second smallest category by total sales in the Canadian cannabis market with 0.5% market share. Ontario’s Topical sales totaled $0.7M in July, while Saskatchewan had the smallest total at only $0.1M.
Topical sales in emerging US markets
Among emerging markets in the US, Florida had the highest total Topical sales in July, reaching $1.7M followed by Michigan ($1.3M), and Illinois ($0.9M). Arizona ($0.9M), Massachusetts ($0.4M), and Maryland ($0.3M) were on the lower end of Topical sales.
Topical sales in legacy US markets
In July 2022, California led legacy US markets in total Topical sales ($2.9M). However, Colorado had the highest Topical market share of any legacy market at 1.5% of sales, and nearly double ($1.9M) the total Topical sales of Washington ($1M).
